Man shot in the leg near Bourbon, Canal streets

A man was struck in the leg by gunfire early Friday morning following a shooting near the intersection of Bourbon and Canal streets, according to New Orleans Police.

NOPD logs show the incident was reported at about 1:07 a.m. near the intersection when the 44-year-old male victim after he was shot.

The man, who was not identified, was walking near the location when he observed a group of people arguing before several shots were fired from an “assault weapon,” and struck in the victim in the leg, according to NOPD logs.

Police said the victim was transported via a private vehicle to a local hospital for treatment. Suspects were listed as “unidentified,” according to NOPD logs.
