Two bars burglarized in string of incidents on Saint Peter Street

Two reported bar burglaries were among a series of incidents that occurred along Saint Peter Street in the French Quarter on Sunday morning

Two bars located in the 700 block of Saint Peter Street reported burglaries at 7:39 a.m. and 1:22 p.m. on Sunday, according to New Orleans Police logs.

Employees from the Succession Barroom and Boondock Saint, located at 733 and 731 Saint Peter streets, respectively, confirmed to The Quarter Rat their businesses were burglarized. The employees declined to identified.

NOPD officials have not said whether the incidents are connected, although the employees said a third business at the corner of Bourbon and Saint Peter streets showed signs of an attempted break-in.

Reported damage from a burglary at a Saint Peter Street business reported on Sunday.

Items taken included several bottles of liquor, although a cash fund was apparently not taken, according to one employee.

Additional incidents that occurred within the same time frame on Sunday morning include two vehicle burglaries in the 600 block of Saint Peter Street, including one at 3:13 a.m. and 4:09 a.m.

In addition, a report of simple criminal damage was logged at a location in the 600 block of Saint Peter Street at 4:04 a.m., according to the NOPD.

It’s not clear if the incidents are connected. The burglaries are under investigation by the NOPD.
