NOPD arrests man accused of Royal Street shooting that injured 1

A 33-year-old man was arrested last month on suspicion of shooting and injuring a person on Royal Street May 22, according to New Orleans Police on Wednesday.

Frederick Boudreaux was arrested at about 2:37 a.m. May 29 after a New Orleans Police officer patrolling Bourbon Street detained him in a suspicious person stop, according to the NOPD.

During the stop, an officer searched Boudreaux and allegedly located gun and narcotics, including marijuana and MDMA.

Through an investigation, police were able to positively identify Boudreaux as the shooter in the incident, which occurred in the 500 block of Royal Street, according to NOPD.

Boudreaux was arrested and booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center on suspicion of charges that include aggravated second-degree battery, felon in possession of a firearm, illegal carrying of a weapon and possession of narcotics with intent to distribute.
