A man was arrested on Sunday in connection to a Dauphine Street auto burglary last week, according to New Orleans Police.
New Orleans Police arrested Freddie Washingon, 37, on suspicion of burglarizing a car in the 1100 block of Dauphine Street on July 12.
Washington was positively identified as the person seen on nearby surveillance camera footage burglarizing the victim’s vehicle and taking their wallet, New Orleans Police said.
Washington was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center and booked on suspicion of simple burglary and illegal possession of stolen things.
A magistrate judge did not find probable cause to hold Washington on the illegal possession charge but set bail at $3,500 for the burglary charge during a video-conferenced court appearance on Monday, according to records.
Washington’s next court date is scheduled for 3 p.m. on September 18 in New Orleans Magistrate Court Section M2. He is presumed innocent.
