Robbery suspects sought after Sept. 15 attack on Bourbon Street

The New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) is searching for a man and a woman who are wanted in connection to an alleged strong arm robbery in the 700 block of Bourbon St. on September 15.

According to the NOPD, the victim was sitting on a curb at about 4:46 a.m. when was approached by an unknown black male who engaged in a short conversation with him before the man punched him in the face and then stomping on his head.

After the victim was allegedly battered, according to the NOPD, an unknown black female picked the victim’s property off the ground then her and her male counterpart fled down Bourbon Street in an unspecified direction.

Man suspected of illegally carrying loaded handgun on Bourbon Street

New Orleans police on September 18 arrested a man on Bourbon Street after he was allegedly found carrying a loaded handgun.

At about 10:37 p.m., New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) Eighth District detectives stopped 34-year-old James Thompson in the 400 block of Bourbon St. after suspecting him of carrying a concealed firearm.

Thompson was searched and police allegedly discovered a loaded handgun in the waistband of his pants.

The NOPD said Thompason wasn’t in possession of a concealed carry permit and subsequently arrested.

Thompson was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center on suspicion of illegally carrying a concealed firearm.

NOPD searches for Sept. 5 Canal Street robbery suspect

The New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) is seeking to locate and identify a man accused of striking and robbing a victim in the 1000 block of Canal St. on September 5.

According to the NOPD, the victim told police that he was walking down Canal Street at about 3:15 a.m. when the suspect approached from behind and struck the victim in the back of the head.

While the victim was reportedly on the ground, according to the NOPD, the suspect allegedly removed the victim’s cell phone from his wallet and fled the scene.

Man suspected of illegally carrying loaded gun, weed arrested on Canal Street

The New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) arrested a man on Canal Street on September 16 after he was caught carrying a loaded handgun.

According to the NOPD, detectives with the Eighth District Task Force who were on foot patrol in the 500 bock of Canal St. near Exchange Alley approached 31-year-old Kevin Ford as he smoked a hand-rolled cigar. The smoke smelled like marijuana, according to the NOPD,.

Police searched Ford’s backpack, according to the NOPD, discovering additional marijuana and a loaded handgun.

Police didn’t identify the type of gun or amount of marijuana discovered on Ford.

Ford was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for illegal carrying of a firearm and illegal possession of marijuana.

Identity of suspect sought after alleged theft of Jeep on Iberville Street

The New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) is seeking assistance from the public identifying and locating a suspect allegedly involved in the theft of Jeep on Iberville St. on September 12.

According to the NOPD, the alleged theft occurred at approximately 3:45 p.m. when the suspect reportedly approached the unoccupied valet booth in the 800 block of Iberville St. and removed a set of keys belonging to a silver Jeep Rubicon parked in front of the location. The suspect drove off with the vehicle heading south on Iberville, according to the NOPD.

At approximately 3:45 a.m., the pictured subject reportedly approached the unoccupied valet booth in the 800 block of Iberville Street. The subject then allegedly opened the door to the podium and pulled out a set of keys, and found the keys were for a Jeep Rubicon parked in front of the location. The subject then entered the vehicle and fled south on Iberville, then unknown.

The vehicle is registered out of Texas with the license plate LRX0631.
