A man wearing a ski mask was arrested on suspicion of illegally carrying a gun as he approached officers stationed on Bourbon Street earlier this month, according to New Orleans Police.
New Orleans Police said Eighth District officers were stationed in the 400 block of Bourbon when they saw August Collins, 25, wearing a ski mask with a gun in his waistband as he walked toward them shortly after 12 a.m. on Nov. 1.
Collins was subsequently arrested and booked into Orleans Parish Justice Center.
New Orleans Police said they arrested a man on suspicion of illegally carrying a “ghost gun” in his waistband near the intersection of Bourbon and Conti streets on Halloween night.
Officers stationed near the intersection on Oct. 31 observed Eric Dwayne Davis Jr. with the gun in his waistband, the NOPD said.
Following his arrest, the NOPD said the gun in his waistband was loaded with a 30-round extended magazine and with an additional round in the chamber.
Police referred to the firearm as a ghost gun because it did not contain a serial number.
New Orleans Police in the French Quarter arrested a man on suspicion of hate crime-related charges after a marked patrol unit was damaged near the intersection of Bourbon and Saint Philip streets Halloween night.
Police said an Eighth District police sergeant was standing approximately 10 feet away from his marked patrol unit on Oct. 31, when he witnessed a man identified as Nicholas Cooper, 25, look into the vehicle’s interior and began to rip the passenger side mirror from its mount.
Cooper then punched the vehicle’s exterior with his fist to attempt to break the vehicle’s window and dent the body, police said. Cooper was arrested immediately.
Cooper was booked on suspicion of a hate crime against a police officer, institutional vandalism and resisting a police officer.
Police estimate the cost of the damage to the police vehicle was about $500.
New Orleans Police identified a man they say is the primary suspect involved in a drive-by shooting that occurred on Burgundy Street Oct. 27.
An arrest warrant was obtained for Jahari Levy, 37, in connection to a drive-by shooting that occurred in the 500 block of Burgundy Street at about 11:41 p.m. on Oct. 27, according to the NOPD.
Officials said Levy is wanted on one count each of 2nd degree aggravated battery and assault by drive-by shooting.
Orleans Parish Justice Center records show that Levy was arrested Oct. 30 on suspicion of illegally carrying a concealed firearm and possession of narcotics, but has since been released.

Levy is known to frequent the French Quarter and the Central Business District, according to the NOPD, adding to use caution when approaching him because he will likely be armed.

Four male suspects are sought in connection to an attempted robbery in which a victim was shot in the neck along the Mississippi River in the French Quarter last month, according to New Orleans Police.
The incident occurred at about 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 29, when the suspects accompanied the male victim to the riverfront located at Saint Peter Street, where they attempted to rob him, the NOPD said.
Police said a struggle ensued and the victim was shot in the neck, causing a near fatal injury.
The female shown in one of the pictures below is also wanted for questioning, the NOPD said.
