Police say Lexus driver, passenger carjacked at gunpoint near the French Market

A man and woman in a Lexus were carjacked on North Peters Street near the French market on Tuesday after two suspects ordered them out of the vehicle at gunpoint, according to New Orleans Police.

The NOPD said the incident occurred at about 5:35 a.m. in the 1000 block of North Peters Street, where two unidentified suspects described as Black males exited their vehicle, which wasn’t identified, and approached the Lexus, ordering the 59-year-old man and 64-year-old woman out of the vehicle at gunpoint.

The suspects fled in the victims’ vehicle, described as a white 2019 Lexus RX 350 with Louisiana license plates of 723EGX, according to the NOPD.
