Five people sustained gunshot wounds in a Bourbon Street shooting early Sunday morning when a person fired into a crowd following an argument, according to New Orleans Police.
New Orleans Police officials said the shooting occurred at about 1:49 a.m. after an argument in the 200 block of Bourbon Street.
Immediately following the argument, a Black male produced a gun and fired into the crowd, according to the NOPD.
Police said that the victims who were struck by bullets included two females and three males, who were all transported to a local hospital via EMS.
The victims’ ages were not disclosed, although their wounds are not considered life-threatening, according to the NOPD.
NOPD officials said two people were detained in connection to the incident, but were not identified, and that weapons were recovered at the scene.
