The Upper Quarter Neighborhood Watch organized a National Night Out block party Tuesday night along the 900 block of Orleans Avenue.
National Night Out is an annual event designed to bring safety awareness and foster relationships between the public and location police. Established by the National Association of Town Watch in the early 1980s, the event is held across various cities across the U.S.
This year’s National Night Out in the French Quarter was held between 6-8 p.m. and included members of the New Orleans Police Department’s Eighth District, the Fire Department and live music from The Bourbon Street Beignet.
If you missed this year’s National Night Out, don’t worry — Eric T. Styles took some fine pictures. Hopefully we’ll see you next year.
