The Upper Quarter Neighborhood Watching is hosting a National Night Out block party scheduled Oct. 4 in the 900 block of Orleans Avenue.
The block party will run from 6 to 8 p.m. and have live music from the Bourbon Street Beignet, in addition to local police officers, firefighters and residents.
Established by the National Association of Town Watch in the early 1980s, National Night Out is a safety-awareness event that’s meant to build relationships between the public and local police. The event is held nationwide across various cities and neighborhoods.
