New Orleans Police on Saturday said a man sustained a shooting injuries to the legs near the intersection of Saint Charles Avenue and Canal Street in the Central Business District, near the French Quarter.
The shooting was reported on Friday evening, just before midnight, in the 100 block of Saint Charles Avenue, according to NOPD.
The man, who wasn’t identified, was transported via EMS to a local hospital. No further information was available.
Police officials said the suspect pulled up to the scene on a moped scooter and stopped next to the victim’s vehicle before producing a gun and shooting the victim several times through the driver’s side door. The shooter fled the scene down Saint Charles Avenue toward Common Street, according to the NOPD.
