UPDATED Airpods, shoes taken in simple robbery reported on Canal Street neutral ground

A male victim was robbed of his Apple Airpods and shoes Saturday night near Canal and Bourbon Streets, according to New Orleans Police.

Officials said the incident was reported as a simple robbery at 10:47 p.m. after the male victim, who was not identified, was approached by three Black juveniles.

The victim told police that he removed his shoes, which cost about $600, after the juveniles circled and threatened him, according to NOPD, adding the suspects fled the scene towards Bourbon Street.

Additionally, NOPD officials said the juveniles allegedly took the victim’s Airpods, which were tracked to the 300 block of Bourbon Street, although no suspects were located.

The incident is still under investigation, according to the NOPD.
