A 16-year-old juvenile male sustained gunshot injuries Sunday morning following an altercation near the intersection of Royal and Saint Louis streets, according to New Orleans Police.
The incident was reported at 3:01 a.m. as aggravated battery by shooting, according to Sgt. Sarah Cherny.
Cherny said an altercation occurred between the suspect and the victim, who were not identified by police, and the suspect fired a gun twice, striking the victim.
The juvenile victim was transported to a local hospital by EMS. Information on his condition wasn’t provided by police.
Officials described the suspect as an “unknown Black male.”
