Parking and traffic will be impacted along portions of French Quarter streets, including near Jackson Square, as crews are scheduled to begin filming scenes for a Netflix movie on May 3.
Crews will film scenes for “Tall Girl 2” in several portions of the French Quarter, including along Royal and St. Louis streets, and St. Ann and Decatur streets near Jackson Square.
Parking will be impacted along the Marigny side of the 600 and 700 blocks of St. Louis Street, where crew trucks will be located from 12:01 a.m. and 11:59 p.m.; and from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. along the lake side of the 400 Royal Street, where filming will occur.
Additionally, between 12:01 a.m. to 11:59 p.m., parking will be affected along the Central Business District side of the 600 and 700 blocks of St. Ann Street, where crew trucks will be located; and along the lake side of the 500 block of Decatur Street, where cameras will be located.
New Orleans Police will provide officers to assist with the production near the filming locations, including with security and intermittent traffic controls at the intersection of Royal and St. Louis streets between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., with traffic fully resuming after 6 p.m.
Film crews and base camp will be situated in private lots to minimize impacts to the area, according to Film New Orleans spokeswoman Carroll Morton.
In addition, Netflix will implement COVID-19 safety protocols during the production, including testing all cast and crew members for the virus at least once each week, frequent cleaning and disinfecting of surfaces and no catering allowed on locations, among other guidelines.
Anyone with specific parking concerns in the area during filming, including for deliveries or construction, is asked to contact assistant location manager Ellie Ginsburg at 240-439-0691 and firstname.lastname@example.org; Carroll Morton with Film New Orleans at 504-658-4341, or 504-240-9504, and email@example.com.
