Bar Tonique, Black Penny reopen after shutting down due to COVID-19 restrictions

Two bars on North Rampart Street in the French Quarter have reopened earlier this month after shutting down due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Bar Tonique, Located at 820 N. Rampart St., reopened on Nov. 11. The bar’s hours are 3 to 11 p.m. Monday through Friday and from noon to 11 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

To enter, the bar requires face coverings when moving around the bar and interacting with staff, physical distancing, limiting group size and no congregating around the bar to wait for an order. For more information, visit the bar’s website.

Black Penny, located at 700 N. Rampart St., announced Nov. 5 that it’s open for to-go drinks and some outside seating from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
