Suspect wanted for allegedly taking NOPD gear in multiple auto burglaries on Barracks Street

New Orleans Police are seeking the identity of a man wanted for allegedly stealing several NOPD items from a car during a March 1 string of auto burglaries on Barracks Street.

The burglaries were reported shortly after 4 a.m. on March 1 in the 500 block of Barracks Street, according to New Orleans Police.

In one of the alleged auto burglaries, the suspect shattered the window of a vehicle and stole several NOPD items, including a reflective rain coat, a reflective traffic vest and a blue jacket with the NOPD badge and logo.

The suspect fled the scene on a bicycle towards North Rampart Street, according to New Orleans Police.

Anyone with information on the suspect’s identity and whereabouts is asked to contact the Eighth District detectives at 504-658-6080, and Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at 877-903-7867.
