NOPD: Man accused of illegally carrying handgun on Bourbon Street

The New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) said it arrested a man for allegedly carrying an illegal concealed handgun on Bourbon Street on August 11.

According to the NOPD, city police officers and Louisiana state troopers were patrolling the 500 block of Bourbon Street at about 12:27 a.m. when they stopped 27-year-old Devante Ray, who was carrying a concealed Glock Model 22 .40-caliber handgun. The firearm was loaded with 15 bullets, according to the NOPD.

Ray was taken to NOPD’s Eighth District police station on Royal Street and transported to the Orleans Parish Justice Center where he was booked with one count of illegal carrying of a firearm.
