A suspect allegedly punched a victim in the face Feb. 9 after snatching their food stamp card on Canal Street, according to New Orleans Police.
According to New Orleans Police, the incident occurred at about 1 a.m. in the 800 block of Canal Street when the suspect allegedly snatched a food stamp card out of the hands of the victim.
The victim reportedly made an attempt to retrieve the card from the suspect, who struck the victim in the face and fled the scene, New Orleans Police said.

New Orleans Police are searching for this man seen walking on Bourbon Street with a Feb. 9 armed robbery victim.
New Orleans Police are seeking to locate a man seen walking on Bourbon Street with a victim who was allegedly lured into an SUV on Feb. 9 and robbed at gunpoint by two suspects.
The victim told investigators that he was lured into an unknown SUV at about 1 a.m. on Feb. 9 and taken to an unknown location, according to New Orleans Police.
While inside the SUV, the victim was robbed at gunpoint by two unknown black males who were sitting in the rear set, police said.
During the investigation, detectives discovered that the victim had been walking on Bourbon Street at about 12:13 a.m. with a black male, who is pictured above, according to New Orleans Police.
The man is sought for questioning as a person of interest in the investigation and is not considered to be a suspect at this time, New Orleans Police said.

Investigators are seeking to locate and identify a suspect who took a victim’s cellphone at gunpoint during an alleged Feb. 4 armed robbery on Dauphine Street, according to New Orleans Police.
The incident occurred shortly before 2 a.m. on Feb. 4 when a suspect followed the victim in the 100 block of Dauphine Street, New Orleans Police said.
The suspect approached the victim and produced a black handgun, then demanded the victim’s property, according to police.
The suspect fled the scene with the victim’s cellphone, New Orleans Police said.

Two men on Feb. 8 were arrested on marijuana and gun charges in separate Bourbon Street incidents after plainclothes detectives allegedly witnessed them rolling blunts, according to New Orleans Police.
The first incident occurred at about 12:19 a.m. on Feb. 8 when Eighth District Task Force plainclothes detectives were patrolling in the 800 block of Bourbon Street and allegedly observed Dominique Breaux, 21, placing green marijuana into an opened cigar, New Orleans Police said.
As detectives attempted to detain Breaux, he fled the scene and was later apprehended three-quarters of a mile away in the 700 block of Common Street in the Central Business District, police officials said.
Detectives allegedly confiscated marijuana from Breaux’s hand and concealed handgun inside his shirt, New Orleans Police said.
Further investigation revealed that Breaux is a convicted felon, according to police.
Breaux was arrested and booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center on charges of illegal carrying of a firearm, felon in possession of a firearm or concealed weapon and illegal possession of marijuana.
The second incident occurred at 11:02 p.m. in 400 block of Bourbon Street where Eighth District Task Force detectives allegedly observed Jeffry Whitson, 21, placing green marijuana into an opened cigar, New Orleans Police said.
Detectives approached Whitson and smelled marijuana, prompting a search, New Orleans Police said.
A handgun was allegedly found tucked into Whitson’s waistband and concealed with his shirt, according to New Orleans Police.
An additional clear plastic bag containing marijuana was allegedly found in Whitson’s possession, New Orleans Police said.
Whitson was arrested and booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center on charges of illegal carrying of a firearm and illegal possession of marijuana.

New Orleans Police are asking the public’s help in finding a Smith and Wesson pistol reported stolen following an alleged Jan. 11 car burglary on Canal Street.
The alleged car burglary occurred at about 7:15 p.m. in a garage located in the 300 block of Canal Street, New Orleans Police said.
During the burglary, a Smith and Wesson 9-millimeter pistol Model SD9VE was stolen out of the car, according to New Orleans Police.
