Man allegedly found in possession of concealed .38 revolver after cops see him smoking weed on Bourbon Street

A man was arrested after he was allegedly found in possession of a concealed revolver with destroyed serial numbers Feb. 3 after detectives watched him smoking marijuana on Bourbon Street, according to New Orleans Police.

Eighth District Task Force A detectives were patrolling the 500 block of Bourbon Street shortly after 11 p.m. on Feb. 3 when they observed Darryl Love, 21, allegedly smoking marijuana, according to New Orleans Police.

When detectives stopped and searched Love, they allegedly found a concealed Rossi .38 revolver with destroyed serial numbers, New Orleans Police said.

Love was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for illegal carrying of a concealed weapon and possession of firearms with obliterated numbers.

Love’s bond was set at $5,000 on Feb. 4, court records show. He is scheduled to reappear on April 3 at 10 a.m. for a rule to show cause hearing in New Orleans Magistrate Court section M5.
