New Orleans Police seek suspect wanted in connection to shooting on Canal Street

New Orleans Police are asking the public’s help with identifying and locating a suspect wanted in connection to a shooting on Canal Street that injured two males earlier this month.

The shooting occurred shortly before 2 a.m. on Dec. 12. in the 500 block of Canal Street, according to New Orleans Police.

Before police arrived, the males were reportedly fighting just before the shooting.

Police on Tuesday released surveillance camera footage of the alleged suspect, who fled the scene in a midnight blue Lexus sedan during the incident, according to NOPD.

New Orleans Police seek man accused of using gun in Canal Street armed robbery

New Orleans Police have obtained an arrest warrant for a man accused of using a gun during an armed robbery on Canal Street Saturday.

The incident occurred shortly before 9 a.m. in the 0 to 10 block of Canal Street, near Harrah’s Casino, when a Black male suspect with an apparent gun in his hand allegedly grabbed the victim’s bag before fleeing the scene, according to New Orleans Police.

Through an investigation, Eighth District detectives identified the suspect as 28-year-old Dshawn Johnson.

Johnson will be arrested for an armed robbery and use of a firearm in a robbery when located, New Orleans Police said.

New Orleans Police arrest man accused of carrying $6K in cash, 4 pounds of weed on Iberville Street

New Orleans Police arrested a man in the French Quarter Tuesday after he allegedly was found in possession of several pounds of marijuana and thousands of dollars in cash.

James McMillian VII, 33, was arrested by detectives from the Major Case Narcotics Unit in the 100 block of Iberville Street following a report of drug violations made shortly before 11 a.m., according to New Orleans Police.

After McMillian was arrested, officers allegedly confiscated more than 2,000 grams, or nearly four and a half pounds, of high-grade marijuana and $6,000 n cash.

McMillian was charged with possession with the intent to distribute a Schedule 1 controlled “dangerous” substance, according to New Orleans Police. His bail was set at $6,000.

New Orleans Police seek identity of person wanted in connection to North Rampart Street vehicle burglary, credit card theft

New Orleans Police are seeking the identity of a person allegedly captured on surveillance video footage attempting to use a credit card stolen from a vehicle on North Rampart Street last month.

The burglary incident occurred at about 9:15 p.m. Nov. 28 when a female victim reported that the purse containing her credit and debit cards was taken from her vehicle in the 1100 block of North Rampart Street, according to New Orleans Police.

The next day, on Nov. 29, the victim’s bank notified that a person attempted use her stolen credit at a restaurant in the 2000 block of Bayou Road shortly before 8:30 a.m.

New Orleans Police released surveillance video footage, picture above, of the alleged credit card fraud Wednesday.
