NOPD arrests man accused in St. Louis Street armed robbery with a gun

New Orleans Police have arrested a 49-year-old man accused of using a gun to rob a female victim on Saint Louis Street last week, then fleeing the scene on a bicycle, according to officials on Monday.

The incident was reported at 6:55 a.m. in the 800 block of Saint Louis St., where Halbert Wilson Jr. allegedly pointed a handgun at a female victim, stole cash and fled the scene, according to NOPD.

Through an investigation, NOPD Eighth District officials said detectives developed and positively identified Wilson as the perpetrator and issued an arrest warrant on May 17 on charges of armed robbery and use of a firearm during a robbery.
