18-year-old man wanted after car stolen from CBD parking garage

An 18-year-old man is wanted by New Orleans Police after an alleged vehicle theft from a Central Business District parking garage last month.

The auto theft occurred shortly before 7 p.m. Jan. 29 in the 100 block of Roosevelt Way, according to New Orleans Police.

Numerous individuals were seen in surveillance camera footage taking the victim’s car from the parking garage.

Eighth District detectives identified Theron Carr, of New Orleans, as one of those individuals and secured an arrest warrant from a magistrate judge that went into effect on Feb. 3, according to New Orleans Police.

Carr was previously arrested numerous times on auto theft and burglary-related charges, according to court records, which show he last made an appearance for a bond hearing in Orleans Parish Magistrate Court Section 4

Eighth District detectives say Carr’s method is simple: he walks into parking garage with friends, attempting to unlock vehicles; and if he gets in, he’ll take the car.

Anyone with information on the incident or Carr’s whereabouts is asked to contact Eighth District detectives at 504-658-6080.
