New Orleans Police on Tuesday arrested a man on suspicion of aggravated battery in connection to a shooting on Canal Street Saturday that left one man injured.
Angel Ledesma, 26, was arrested after a shooting shortly before 4 a.m. in the 700 block of Canal Street, according to New Orleans Police.
When emergency responders arrived on scene, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds and was transported to a local hospital.
Through an investigation, Eighth District detectives positively identified Ledesma as the perpetrator in the incident and obtained an arrest warrant, according to New Orleans Police.
Ledesma was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice on a charge of second-degree aggravated battery.
