Man carrying a loaded firearm and a blunt was arrested on Bourbon Street, NOPD says

A man who was illegally carrying a loaded handgun and a blunt was arrested in the 400 block of Bourbon St. on September 9, according to the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD).

Demarkius Williams, 27, was apparently celebrating his birthday with a loaded Smith and Wesson .40-caliber handgun and marijuana in the French Quarter when he was arrested by NOPD Eighth District Task Force officers in the 400 block of Bourbon St. at approximately 10:51 p.m.

In addition to the handgun and the weed, the NOPD said it found a magazine filled with 14 rounds of live ammunition.

Williams was transported to the Eighth District station then booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center where he is accused of allegedly carrying a concealed firearm and illegal possession of marijuana.
