Suspect in alleged simple robbery in French Quarter wanted by NOPD

The New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) is searching for a suspect in an alleged simple robbery that occurred in the block of 10 Canal St. near Harrah’s casino on September 7.

According to NOPD Eighth District detectives, the victim was approached by an unknown black male suspect (pictured above) at approximately 5:30 a.m. and the two relocated to an unknown street in the French Quarter, where the victim was assaulted by the suspect and several more unknown males.

The victim was knocked tot he ground and the suspects fled the scene with the victim’s belongings, according to the NOPD.

NOPD: Man accused of fraudulently using credit card at Metairie Walmart

The New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) is searching for the identity and whereabouts of a suspect who is accused of fraudulently using a government issued credit card reported missing in the 800 block of Esplanade Ave. in June.

According to the NOPD, a man reported that his debit card and government issued credit card were missing on June 8. On the same day, according to the NOPD, the missing credit card was fraudulently used at a Walmart store in Metairie located more than 10 miles away.

The NOPD released a surveillance photo of the suspect (pictured above) who allegedly used the missing credit card on August 22.

‘Don’t follow me or I will shoot you’: NOPD searches for Burgundy Street armed robbery suspect

The New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) is searching for a man suspected of committing an armed robbery with a gun in the 100 block of Burgundy St. on August 15.

According to the NOPD, the alleged incident occurred at about 7:04 a.m. when an the suspect approached a female victim from behind as she tried to enter a building, and yanked the purse from her hand.

When the victim tried to pick her purse off the ground, the suspected pointed a black firearm at her.

“Don’t follow me or I will shoot you,” the suspect allegedly told the victim, before leaving the scene down Burgundy towards Iberville Street.

NOPD described the suspect as a black male standing approximately five feet 11 inches tall with a slim build and salt and pepper hair. He was wearing a red baseball cap, black shirt, and blue jeans. NOPD released surveillance camera footage of the alleged suspect, which is shown above.

NOPD: Armed robbery suspected demanded money, kiss from French Quarter cashier

A person suspected of robbing a French Quarter business at knife point on August 15 in the 1000 block of Royal St. demanded a kiss from the cashier, according to the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD).

The NOPD said the incident occurred at about 3:05 a.m. when the suspect approached the victim with a knife in hand and demanded money from the cash register. The suspect took cash and then demanded a kiss, according to the NOPD. The suspect then fled the scene with an unspecified amount of cash. It’s not clear if the victim complied with the suspect’s demand for a smooch.

Police search for three men suspected in a purse-snatching incident on Royal Street

Three men are sought by the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) for their alleged involvement in an attempted purse-snatching incident in the 700 block of Royal St. on August 11.

According to the NOPD, the alleged incident occurred at about 1 a.m. in the 700 block of Royal St. when the victim crossed paths with three unknown black males. One suspect asked the victim for a cigarette, according to the NOPD, then grabbed her purse.

The victim immediately grabbed her purse with both hands and tried to prevent it from being taken, according to the NOPD, at which point a struggle ensued. The victim fell to the ground and the man allegedly dragged the victim to the 600 block of St. Peter St., according to the NOPD.

The victim eventually let go of her purse and the suspect ran off, but dropped the purse along the way, according to the NOPD. A witness returned the purse to the victim, according to NOPD, and was transported to an area hospital to receive treatment for her injuries.
