New Orleans Police arrested a 44-year-old man in connection to a Bourbon Street shooting that injured a male victim on Saturday, according to officials on Monday.
Eighth District detectives arrested Kendall Woolridge on suspicion of attempted murder and illegal use of a weapon after turning himself hours after the shooting, according to New Orleans Police.
Logs show an aggravated by shooting was reported to NOPD dispatchers at about 3:21 a.m. in the 500 block of Bourbon Street.
Woolridge was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center on suspicion of charges that include attempted second-degree murder and illegal use of a weapon, with a total bond amount listed at $125,000, according to online records. Woolridge was appointed a public defender, who objected to the bond amount.
Records show Woolridge made his first appearance in section M2 of Orleans Criminal District Court on Monday via video conference due to coronavirus-related court closures. Woolridge is scheduled to appear on a rule to show cause 3 p.m. Aug. 25 in section M5, according to records.
In addition, NOPD officials on Monday announced several more firearm-related arrests, including:
- Timothy Huff, 33, arrested June 23 on suspicion of simple burglary following an incident in the 500 block of Frenchmen Street.
- Charles Jackson, 29, June 21 on suspicion of illegally carrying a weapon after an incident in the 500 block of Bourbon Street.
- Graylin S. Lewis, 43, arrested June 21 on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm at the scene of an incident earlier in the day at the intersection of North Rampart Street and Ursulines Avenue.
