Police seek man accused of pointing gun, choking female date after argument on Bourbon Street

A 27-year-old man is accused of a Saturday incident in which he pointed a gun and choked his female date following an argument on Bourbon Street, according to New Orleans Police.

New Orleans Police officials said the incident was reported shortly before 6 p.m. in the 300 block of Bourbon Street, where Jakuan Collins (pictured) was involved in a verbal argument with his date before brandishing a gun at the victim and briefly choking her.

Through an investigation, detectives identified Collins as a suspect in the incident and obtained an arrest warrant on suspicion of charges that included aggravated battery and aggravated assault of a dating partner, according to New Orleans Police.

In addition, police officials have warned the public that Collins has been known to carry a firearm.
