A man was arrested on suspicion of illegally carrying a gun inside his boot Wednesday after he was initially detained for fighting on Bourbon Street, according to New Orleans Police officials.

New Orleans Police responded to a location in the 400 block of Bourbon Street shortly after 2:45 a.m. and arrested Timothy David, 25, on suspicion of disturbing the peace by fighting, officials said.

During a search of David after the arrest, officers allegedly found a concealed handgun with five rounds of ammunition.

David didn’t possess a concealed carry permit at the time, New Orleans Police said.

David was transported to the Orleans Parish Justice Center and booked on suspicion of illegally carrying a firearm and disturbing the peace.
